347# MG Unicorn Gundam - Part 1.0 Unicorn Mode

347# MG Unicorn Gundam - Part 1.0 Unicorn Mode

Another filler post to push all my emotional posts down. I don't wish those things to fill the top post and i don't think you all would like to see those each time you come surf in here.

But i don't think it's good to write another gunpla related post, because chan will sure char kao me again with his usual line;

"Play gundam some more, play la and keep failing your exams!"

I've stopped my modelling "career" for quite sometime. The last gunpla i bought was 1/100 Gundam Virtue which was more than 1 month ago, and it's still not completed yet.

Actually i've assembled this MG long time ago, it was my first MG of the year.

And after few months of leaving it in the cabinet, i decided to apply the stickers and the decals.

Since those things are supposed to be applied, so instead of keeping them in the box, why not i just try to apply them to make the model look better?

Being a Ver.Ka MG designed by Katoki Hajime, there are overwhelming decals and stickers to apply.

The time i took to apply those 100+ stickers was more than the time i actually spent on in assembling it.

That 3 nights i spent before i sleep to apply them were a pain in the eye...

Stickers (those tiny red marks on the model) and decals with measure of 4mm x 3mm were plain troublesome, to make things worse the dry transfer decals are too fragile and i spoilt a few of them.

And for more than a few times, i stick the decals at the wrong position, not before i notice it. Unlike stickers, there's no turning back if a decal is applied wrongly.

I was kind of lazy so i didn't use the standard method in applying the stickers and decals. I've learnt my lesson now.

Now due to time constraints, all of my models are left in the cabinet to be covered with dust. I always wanted to take all of them out so that i could clean the glass cabinet but i would never have the 30 minutes to do so.

Today i reached home early since lectures were from 8am to 10.30am. Once i stepped into my room i notice this harmony sunlight shone into my room therefore i took the camera to snap a few photos with the natural sunlight.

Taking photos for gunpla is best done with natural sunlight, at least i would think so. But the main problem is the intensity of the sunlight, white balance and all other settings of the camera, which i am not master with.

That's why i used Auto mode to take all these, and they don't look as nice as i wanted them to be.

Just feel like posting pictures of the Unicorn mode only for now and save the Destroy mode for next time.

For some reason i prefer the Unicorn mode than the Destroy mode.

The main gimmick of this MG is that it' s able to transform in between these 2 modes. The designer has succeed where lots of collector and modeller bought this MG even though there are not the Universal Century era fan.

Including me.

I thought it would be cool to pose a silhoutte of the Destroy Mode with some red inner psycho frame revealed. But i just remembered that i've posted pictures of the Destroy mode before.

Oh well. Wait until i have the mood then i'll write again.

Review pending:
- MG Zeta white unicorn version
- 1/100 Virtue and Nahleeh
- Rebuild of MG Unicorn Destroy mode
- Rebuild of Gundam Exia
- Rebuild of Gundam Dynames
- Rebuild of Strike Gundam + I.W.S.P.

346# Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen

Why?

Why this will happen again? I'm sick of hanging in between 60% to 64.9%, i want to pass my exams!

We already sat for 8 system exams until now, and i have got 5 B-.

It's good to be consistent but i don't mean consistent in failing!

60% - 64.9% is such a small range, but how the heck could my results reach that level only for 5 freaking times?

FIVE TIMES.

KNN why am i still trapped in the curse of B-? Why are there no ups and downs in my exam results?

Why imu set the passing rate as 65% and above? Why 64.9% still can't pass? Why B- fail and B above only can pass?

Why?

What happened can't be changed, so i want to pass the remaining to exams and of course my finals!

I want anything above B-, anything above 64.9%!

I want to pass! Please!

345# Sleep

345# Sleep

Everything is so deprived.

Money, time, food, study, and even sleep.

Our schedule for this system is totally screwed up.

We have lectures on 8.00am, and that's still ok. But there are still pbls, csu and even 2 hospital visits.

Lectures on 8.00am means that for those who drive to uni like me have to wake up as early as 5.30am to escape the traffic jam.

Waking up at 5.30am everyday isn't a good thing. My eye bags tell the story. Because there's only 5 hours to sleep every weekday.

Oh well, "sleep early so that can get more sleep", some would say. But it's impossible for a person to sleep as early as 9.30pm due to the fact that you only able to reach home at 8pm everyday due to traffic (again).

So, i reach home at 8pm, bath and eat dinner, 9pm. Stone, study until 12.30am. Sleep after that. Without knowing that i slept or not my alarm will wake me up at 5.30am.

Everyday is like fark where i wake up and ask myself whether I slept or not.

Therefore, in turn, i had to sleep during lectures (sometimes) and in the library (all the times) to compensate the sleeping time i've lost.

To make things worst, my pbl sessions can't be combined nor change the time. Means that other than lectures on 8am, i still have to go for pbl 8.30am every tuesday and friday.

The 30 minutes difference doesn't make any difference at all. I still have to leave home before 6.45am to escape the traffic jam.

Traffic jam outside my house, roundabout before entering the highway, shah alam and subang. If i manage to escape the jam i could reach uni in 35 minutes with driving average speed of 100km/h.

If I'm 1 minute late to escape the traffic, I'd get caught in the traffic up to an hour and it'd take me up to 1 hour and 40 minutes to reach uni.

Therefore if that happens I'd either miss a lecture or be late for pbl. It'd be worse if you get the Dean as your pbl facilitator like me, where being late is not allowed.

And that's why some of us reach uni late for a reason; but some of them not.

There's this group of people who stay at vista apartment which is walking distance to the uni. And always go late for lectures and for almost everything.

Dresscode for male students

I don't think they would have any reason to be late at all. They won't need to face the unpredictable traffic, they don't need to go to the petrol station, and they don't need to park their cars. But they still go late to uni.

For 8am lecture maybe they'll sleep until 7.30am where for us who are driving we are already in uni half an hour earlier than that.

Dresscode for female students - do you comply?

Other than that, this group of latecomers not just being late, they practically treat the uni as their living room - wearing t shirts and denim plus slippers to uni.

This is totally a wtf where almost all the male students (a few of them are not though) wear formally to uni but these bunch of girls (a lot of them) wear like how those auntie go market.

Such a big contrast is just making us who wear formally to look stupid.

So please, save those clothing four yourselves when you go to pasar malam. Please respect your attire. I don't wish to swear now, and i'm trying not to.

Motherfuckers.

344# Sensational Symphony

344# Sensational Symphony

It's over!

Imu ball 2008 held by us, the semester 5 of year 2008, M106 batch.

The committee did a very good job in organising this event. Salute.

It's all over, for us the band member. 2 weeks of hard work.

For the sake of the performance, my timetable goes with 3 to 8 hours of practice and 3 to 4 hours of sleep a day. And this is going to be a history.

Outside of the ballroom in the morning, before getting infested by the formal and impressive.

Like the committees, me and my band members reached at Park Royal Hotel around 10am to set up. I'm a bit upset about the lack of human power where i had to carry the instruments around.

Imagine, friday night after the rehearsal. Carry the instruments back to music room and to my car. Then saturday morning carry them from the music room into the cars. From the cars up to the ballroom of the hotel, and then in the end of the show from the ballroom back to the cars, and then then from the cars back to music room in imu.

While i am typing this, my whole body ache. The lactate built in my muscle is eroding my senses and this may take few days to heal. I thought i could just sit back and enjoy since this is my last ball in imu bukit jalil. Apparently i was wrong.

Well made decorations by the committee, i was there when they were making these.

Alright, i think no one is interested about all these negative things.

After setting the instruments up, around 11.30am a few of us went to Sungei Wang for brunch. Went back to hotel again to rehearse for the last time.

Since the ballroom is big unlike the music room in imu, i was able to step on the bass drum harder. That was the key point in making my beats constant. I felt so much more better and consistent playing on stage.

The stage. Too small for us.

The event starts on 6.30pm, we had so much time to kill until that time. 1pm, Kee Chun, Justin and me had nothing better to do and we went to Time Square.

And few hours before the ball i bought my suit.

Lieo Juin called me to help, he freaked out when i told him that i was buying my suit.

A bit regret that i didn't buy earlier, should have done it. What's worse is that the suit i bought was too expensive for myself and i think that i was just wasting money. But anyway, i'll wear it again and again so i hope it worth the money.

Room 1614. Guitar stolen from Seng Chye.

Thank god that the committee has a room to bath and change. Since there's only 1 room for so many of us therefore we had to queue up. And by the time i bathed, i changed straight since it almost 6pm already.

Can't imagine that i bought the suit a few hours before the ball started. Has anyone out there did the same?

Let's dream with the Quandoness. You can only see 14 of us in this picture.

Our band's performance was the last in the list, after the crowning of the ball king and queen. A very large line up of us, only from us, where we filled the whole stage entirely.

2 vocalists, 1 guitarist, 1 bassist, 1 drummer, 1 pianist, 3 percussionists, 7 violinists, 1 saxophonist and 1 flautist. 18 of us in total.

No, you can't see me from any of the pictures you could possibly find. Not only i was blocked by the drums, i was blocked by the violinists and vocalists too. That explains why no one knows i was playing up there.

Saxist Justin. Broke back mau turn part 2.

Quando, quando, quando by Micheal Buble and Nelly Furtado. The only time i listened to the real song was 1 hour before the ball started, because i practiced with the MIDI made by Kee chun only.

Anyway i think i didn't do any mistake during the performance. Just that my realm snare and cymbals hit by brush weren't loud enough for the performance because of the crowd.

The PA system was not in optimised either where i could hardly hear the voices. In short, i couldn't hear them other than the bassist.

Band manager + song arranger + instructor of ALL 8 instruments + male vocalist - Kee Chun.

Of course, i could hear the sax damn well. The only loud instrument which needs no amplifier other than the drums.

Justin's part on the sax could be the highlight of the whole song, that explains why he was so stressed and practiced so hard.

Both of us are still new in our instruments and we were asked to perform a jazz song therefore we seriously had a hard time within these 2 weeks.

Only 15 of us in this picture, 3 more were missing. Really hard to get everyone together since everyone was everywhere.

While we were performing, the prom king and queen danced and the dance floor. And the rest of them joined in. That was really fun to see people dance with our music. I mean, we really made it.

I had a few positive feedback from our friends. They really liked our song because it was something totally out of the box. I'm so glad that people enjoyed our performance. Thank you!

Kevin as the ball king, congrats! You and Caryn rocks.

Alright, enough of things about performance. The whole point about a ball is to dress up and camwhore.

I was really amazed by how impressive imu people can dress up. I could hardly tell who is who from the back and i had to walk around to find out who was in front of me. You guys are just crazy cool.

Caryn, the ball queen. Congrats again!

But for me, i suck in getting attention. I was just being what i always look like in imu, plus the suit, that's it. I styled my hair like usual, wore the shirt i go to imu, didn't polish my shoe.

Now i have the thought that i didn't respect the event well. But anyway i don't think that there are anything that i could do to stand more since i was already in the hotel since the morning...

My whole point was just to be casual, therefore i didn't even put my tie on, even though i brought 2. But anyway i think it was good enough for me already, at least i tried.

Should have style up my hair like Super Saiyan. Aiks.

Winnie the Pooh aka Wai Teng never fail to impress people around her. Red outshines.

By the way, I think some of you all noticed that i carried my tendon hammer bag around. You asked me why, my answer of "being standby as a doctor" wasn't really convincing and i hope that you all get the punchline.

That was actually where i kept my drumsticks and brush. In case if you were wondering.

In the end i got tired of answering the reason why i carry "tendon hammer" around, i just took out the sticks and hand carry them.

Dr. Jo and Dr. Jennifer Perera.

Dr. Jo and Dr. Jennifer won the best dressed male and female lecturer. But i didn't see them show up, did they?

Kiren and Bee Ling won the best dressed male and female too. I was busy preparing for my performance so i didn't take any photos of that.

Oh wait, did i mentioned that i didn't bring my camera's battery? I didn't take any photos at all. Actually i did, but helping people to take with their cameras.

Lydia, the super duper hot camera lady.

Initially i was stoning around because i was really tired. Imagine whole week without sleep plus all the hard work.

This is the point, when you are stoning around and have nothing to do, you will be called to be a cameraman and cameras will be tossed onto you. I got that quite a few times...

I was nothing but i cameraman, ah huh...

Tenni looked very young in this gown. So sweet.

When the ball was over people won't leave just like that. Everyone hanged around outside the ballroom to continue camwhoring. Unlike early before that where i was feeling exhausted, that was when i took the most picture because of post-performance adrenaline.

Justin was posing around with his sax and he played a small part of his solo. That was really loud and sweet and he won a second applause of the night. I got high that time too. If we really could, we can actually have an acoustic, live Quando outside there with everyone around!

But too bad no drums for me.

Can you tell which one is me? Most of the guys were wearing black...

After the ball everyone went to clubbing or pub or things like that. Too bad my day didn't just end there where i had to carry the music instruments back to imu.

In the end, Kee Chun, Kay Man, Justin, Kin Chern and i went to mamak after all the man work. The food served in the ball was a disappointment, plus we were too busy and we didn't get to eat much. Therefore sadly we had to eat mamak to end our day, night i mean.

Thanks again to all the ball committees and everyone of you all in the band. Special thanks to our band manager kee chun in training us, without you we wouldn't have gone this far.

Thank you!

343# Bossa Nova

343# Bossa Nova

This week has been a hectic week. I know i always say this but damn, everyday seems to be a busy day.

Central Nervous System's schedule is really screwed up. Lecture starts on 4pm on Mondays and the rest of the weekdays lecture/pbl starts on 8am.

Means that i have to wake up at 5.30am and have to leave home before 6.40am to prevent the traffic jam. I got caught in the jam for few times, which i ended up spending 1 hour and 40 minutes in the jam.

Since so much time is wasted in traffic or avoid traffic, lots of sleeping time is sacrificed. I'm a photosensitive person where i prefer to wake up at 8am when the sun has risen.

There was this day i slept at 2 something and wake up at 5am.

Not only lots of time is spent for all these, i have been spending time to practice for imu ball's performance. My very last performace in imu bukit jalil.

I was struggling within myself whether to perform or not. I wish to concentrate my time for my studies since i can't afford to fail anymore. But this would be the last chance for me so i mustn't just let it slipped away.

I declined kee chun's request as a drummer a few times. In the end i was ordered to play somehow. Last chance already anyway.

As a beginner, jazz music is definitely, extremely, undoubtedly hard for me. We are going to perform a bossa nova style song for the ball.

I do listen to pop jazz but i'm not a big fan of the genuine jazz genre. My experience of pop, pop rock and metal music in drumming really pulls my skills down for jazz drum.

Jazz drum ain't an easy drum like other genres do. As far as i concerned, jazz music is the hardest music to play with. Few years back when i still taking electric guitar lessons i learnt a few jazz scales and chord.

I really enjoy playing it but those chord are really hard to hold and hard to remember. I've returned all those knowledge back to the instructor already.

For a guy who can handle all kinds of key, wind, string and even percussion instruments, kee chun arranged the score and guide me all the way for the song.

Like i mentioned, i am more familliar with the general drum grooves therefore i'm working really hard for this boss nova style drumming.

5 more days to meet each other in uni to practice together, hope i won't spoil the show.

This is going to be Chan's first on stage performance. He is the one who convinced me to perform. And i convinced him to go for the ball instead of a perform-and-run performer.

Chan's practicing really hard since he has never performed in front of the others before. Saxphone isn't a very common instrument to play with so he can hardly find anyone to share.

Unlike guitars or piano, anyone within your stone-throwing radius can play either one of the instruments, or even both.

I should be studying now. CNS kills

342# The End of MSK

342# The End of MSK

Now this page is returned to its original form - posts about university life again. And this post could be quite emo as usual...

Today we sat for our musculoskeletal system paper, one of those papers which said to have the highest failing rate.

But somehow it didn't really work on people around me, they seemed to do well in the paper.

In contrast, i am the only one who screwed it up.

It's quite diu-ed up to be in the last group where we had to go seremban hospital posting 2 days before exam and do csu one day before exam.

I didn't expect the exam to be that hard. OSPE turned out to be quite well because i studied the pathology slides and anatomy well. But the case studies and SAQ really turned me down.

I believe that there are quite a few questions came out which are taught in semester one and they expect us to cover those. I didn't bother reading the semester one stuff so i couldn't really answer it.

Like any of the previous systems, i tried my best to study. In fact i had pushed myself to the max but there were too many things to deal with which pulled myself down.

Pbl, Csu and hospital visit really wasted my time. Just the hospital visit itself it had wasted my whole day. Went to seremban at 12.30pm and we reached at Bukit Jalil at 7pm due to the jam.

I reached home at 8.30pm due to the jam again. Began study at 9.30pm after i cleaned up and dinner. I was too tired and i couldn't take it anymore and go to sleep at 10pm.

If there were no hospital visits, i'd have more than 9 hours to study.

Of course i can't put the blame on the hospital visit, as if the extra 9 hours of studies would make a difference.

Maybe it would.

I actually overlooked some minor things in the lecture notes regardless countless times i read them. I didn't know Colle's fracture was actually the Dinner Fork Deformity and the the mechanism of muscle twitching caused by suxamethonium was the "just sit there" thingy. Screwed up.

There are too many things to cry over but there's no point talking about it. It's all over. Being a borderline student i'd be satisfy if i could score a B- for this paper, really.

Endocrine - A
Reproduction - B-
Renal - B
Selective - A-
Musculoskeletal - ?

I always have screwed up feelings after exams and i never hide it in front of my parents. I've told them i've screwed up again. They didn't blame me, somehow it's still the final exam that counts.

But it'd be difficult if my system exams scores are too low...

I've to call myself lucky where i got away with my semester three finals without borderline Viva, even though i passed none out of the 4 system exams.

Miracle does not happen twice. So i must do better again for the coming exams. (i don't know how many times i've said that to myself each of everytime i screwed up, but still...)

Rest for 1 week to cool down my engine and i'll go full rev again for central nervous system again.
