394# Trying my best to vote

Ok, I voted for Earth.

But how the hell am I going to study if I don't turn on my lights? So I went to Jusco just now to have my dinner in Igentis restaurant.

I ordered my food then only I get my seat. Once I sat down only I realised the candle standing on the table. Damn. They are going to off their lights later.

In fact I wanted to study there during, and after my dinner, within the earth hour period. So my plan was ruined. After I finished eating, just nice the times was up. They lit the candes, and turned off the lights.

Failed to study, so I just pay my bill and left. So happens that the nursing students were there so I sat down with them and had a little talk. No, I only know the guy nursing student, I don't know the girls, really. Really one.

Then, I went home. Had alcohol withdrawal syndrome and tried to open my beer bottle. Paper and pen tricks did not work. Used my housemate's kitchen scissors and I broke the blardy handle. Argh. Sorry.

No beer. Luckily I walked back with a 1.5L of Tropica Twister orange juice and I brought some vodka here so at least I won't die. Too little I had and I nearly finish it while I'm typing this.

I only on my stand lamp just now. Just for a few minutes only though then the clock hit 9.30pm. Time for brightness again.

In fact, I don't think this earth hour thingy really help directly. I guess it's merely a form of awareness for the ignorant people around you and me in this country. No one gives a damn anyway in the end of the day.

While I was driving back home, I was thinking, can I off the headlamps when I was driving?

Oh yes.

393# Perfect Grade Skygrasper + Aile Striker

I had been thinking again and again, should I buy the PG Skygrasper + Aile Striker. But without it my PG Strike would be so incomplete.

Eventually, after almost 3 months of purchasing the PG Strike, I bought this PG Skygrasper + Aile Striker early of this month.

I hope I will not spend for gunpla anymore in this short period of time, at least wait until I finish my semester 7 exam, will I?

I have actually assembled the top of part of the Aile Striker during the day after I bought it. That was during the Sunday before we started our obstetrics posting. Once posting started we don't even have time to sleep, so of course no time for gunpla.

Thus I brought it back home and placed it together with the PG Strike. My only (set of) Perfect Grade gunpla. Would be the last.

3 days after I bought the PG Strike only they announced the release of PG Astray Red Frame, which drove me completely crazy. Astray Red Frame was the one that pulled me back to this whole thing about Gundam again, so of course I like it more then any other mobile suits!

Too late. But anyway, being a 18,900 yen Perfect Grade kit which costs around RM700, same as this set of PG, I guess I could only get it after I started working. Not now for sure.

I did not take much picture of this kit. It is a non mobile suit gunpla I have bought so far. I was just 3 months late and the price got raised for RM10. Damn!

Box is about the same, but slightly thicker than a Master Grade kit box. Not many runners in there, but the runners are all big due to the huge size of the pieces.

1/60 scale afterall.

The above 2 photos were taking in my seremban room, that's why the background and floor looked different.

Will continue assembling it after I finish my exam. A can of semi gloss top coat was bought too during the same time. So semi gloss coating for the armor and dull coating for the inner frame, I'm not sure whether has anyone tried that on a PG before, but I think I'll just do it anyway.

By the way, just like anyone else, I bought this kit is merely for the Aile Striker backpack. I won't be assembling the Skygrasper unless I have a long, long break, which is not going to happen in the near future.

A slight update for the PG Strike. It is too huge (~35cm) to be placed in the glass shelve if it's on the stand. The stand only come together with this PG Skygrasper + Aile Striker, so if someone who bought the PG Strike without the said kit then aerial posing this fella would be impossible, unless you DIY one super hard and durable stand for it.

I doubt that the stand is going to last long. Because the PG is really, really heavy.

Work in Slow Progress, will be continued.

392# Surgery posting results

We had our surgery posting as our last posting during our semester 6. It was quite fun, not as hard as internal medicine, and was quite straight forward. If medical cases are managed by drugs, surgical cases are then managed by scarpels. For anything else, just "potong"!

Kidding, of course.

Alright, so after 3 weeks of waiting and our result was out on last Monday. Normally it would take 2 weeks but this time I wonder what caused the delay.

When I was walking down towards the Academic Affair Department to collect my result, I saw a batchmate of mine, having a very unpleasant emotion. He told me, only 11 people passed the multiple choice question paper!

Only 11 people out of the blardy total of 27 people passed? That's insane!

Alright, at first, this is the result for our clinical examination.

C+ and above is pass, C is borderline. Grades below it are fail.

Everyone passed. I did quite alright for this clinical examination. My grade is the third highest, B+.

At the other side, i also scored the third highest grade for the multiple choice question paper too.

But the highest score was C+.

I freaking failed the exam, first failure in clinical school... C-...!

I don't know what had happened to our exam. To be honest we have a lot of smart people in our posting, so this result was not convincing at all.

Just like the rest of the 16 people, I failed the paper as well. Being in the same boat with so many people at least make me feel slightly better...

391# FG Gundam Rasiel

Luckily I managed to get a copy of this issue. Dengeki Hobby January 2009, Hong Kong version. Comes with the First Grade Gundam Rasiel which is the main Mobile Suit in second season of Gundam OOP.

Third issue of Dengeki Hobby with I bought with free (not exactly free, you pay more for it) parts. The first I bought was with Primrose, second was Gundam Astrae conversion kit, and this third one is the whole Mobile suit!

The box condition is better than I expected. Did not get damaged badly. And the contents are intact. No problem.

When it comes to free stuffs, I usually get two copies of them. Too bad when I spotted this in the magazine store it was already the last copy. But I've asked my youngest sister to grab another copy, luckily.

I'm not very sure whether I'll put these together or not. Surely it is very easy to be assembled. But being a First Grade kit, it is for either younger age group people who just want to snap fit the pieces together, or for extensive modellers who like to challenge their modification and painting skills while perfecting this First Grade into a pseudo-High Grade model.

One runner only and that's it. And they are all moulded in single white colour. It is sure a pain in the arse to paint them.

For extensive modellers, it can be modified to have articulations, using parts from other High Grade OO series models. But I wonder if there's anyone locally who will do it, since Gunpla are getting more expensive nowadays.

Parts are really small! That's my left thumb and a pilot G-2 pen in relative to the size of this model's helmet.

Won't be messing with it. Bought the Perfect Grade Skygrasper + Aile Striker weeks ago and it is still at home. Will complete my Perfect Grade Aile Strike Gundam after my exam, hopefully.

And then I shall take a break from Gunpla.

Reason #1 - Recession
Reason #2 - End of Semester 7 exams
Reason #3 - Don't really have much to buy.

Pending list:
1. Master Grade Sinanju Gundam
2. High Grade Universal Century Sazabi
3. High Grade 00 Raiser

390# Obstetrics

2 weeks of Obstetrics posting has just passed.

We only have 5 weeks for the posting. Clinical examination is on 1st of April. 3 more weeks to go and I feel that I'm still very empty inside.

Too much to study, too little time.

I actually have a problem with this posting. It is so different from the postings that we have done. Pregnancy is not pathological at all but physiological instead. Thus most of the times we are not treating a patient, but a "mother" instead.

Perhaps the word "treat" isn't very appropriate. Most of them get admitted, deliver their babies, and discharge without any complication.

But some of them got admitted due to underlying diseases, or complications of their pregnancy. Thus in these cases the word "treat" sounds more appropriate to use.

Most of the patients are very friendly, I mean, very. Last Friday I had my first case presentation and I was not very prepared.

Being the first case presentation and I was not even sure which part of the history need to be covered, I presented the case very badly. My lecturer was not very happy with my presentation and I got fired quite badly.

But the patient backed me up. She even clarify the sexual history openly, which I prefer not to disclose in front of her presence and willing to get fired.

When I was doing palpation of her post lower segment Caesarean section abdomen, I even caused pain to her because I did not control my strength properly. I have to say that I was damn wrong in doing that, I'd just fail my exam just like that if that was an exam.

But this patient said to the lecturer, "Never mind, let him try".

I was so touched. A very good person. Too bad I did not follow her up that night. Guess she has discharged and I hope she did.

Tomorrow I'll be posted in the labour room for 1 week. I have already observed a delivery during my call few days ago.

A very "fast" delivery. Because while the patient got pushed in, she was already in second stage of her labour. And the baby just got delivered within seconds.

Too bad that was not a wanted pregnancy and the patient was just 15. I feel very sorry for her, hope both of the patient and baby are doing fine now.

I guess obstetrics is not something that I'd enjoy because it is not a disease based speciality unlike other postings. But still it is very important for us... to get through the exams, and during houseman ship.

But I know some of them quite interested in this posting and want to get specialised in this field though.
